About Our Guest: Uma Amuluru is chief compliance officer and vice president, Global Compliance, for The Boeing Company, and a member of its Executive Council. As chief compliance officer, Amuluru is responsible for Boeing’s ethics and compliance program, which enables business success through an organizational culture committed to integrity, ethical conduct, workplace and product safety, and compliance with laws and company policies. As a member of the Executive Council, Amuluru is responsible for proactively addressing legal and compliance obligations, as well as providing company leaders with early visibility of any arising issues.
Amuluru previously served as vice president and assistant general counsel for Boeing. She was responsible for legal advice and counsel to the chief engineer, chief information officer and Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Operations leaders. Amuluru advised on matters related to intellectual property, cybersecurity, enterprise supply chain, and environment, health and safety.
Before joining Boeing, Amuluru held several senior positions in the federal government. As counselor to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Amuluru advised on high-profile criminal and law enforcement matters. She was also associate White House counsel to President Barack Obama, a role in which she provided legal and strategic advice to senior White House officials on issues involving compliance, oversight and risk management. Amuluru also served as assistant United States attorney for the District of Columbia.
Amuluru began her legal career as a commercial litigator for large companies facing complex legal disputes. As an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Amuluru represented companies in government enforcement actions, investigations, and state and federal litigation.
She also served as a law clerk at the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Amuluru holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University. She currently serves on the board of directors forLegal Aid Chicago and on the board of trustees for the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago.
