Senior Director of Development

Organizational Overview: 

Founded in 2014, LiveGirl is a Connecticut-based nonprofit Founded in 2014, LiveGirl is a Connecticut-based nonprofit that builds confident, career-ready leaders. Our mission is to prepare the next generation of brave women leaders with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive and make a positive impact. Since founding, we have served nearly 25,000 girls and young women through our free-of-charge leadership development, mental wellness/mentorship, and career-readiness programming.

Job Description: 

LiveGirl is seeking a full-time Senior Director of Development to join our passionate, innovative team and help drive the next chapter of our growth. This role will lead our overall development strategy in alignment with LiveGirl’s three-year strategic plan, with a focus on expanding and diversifying revenue to sustain and scale our impact.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement a comprehensive development strategy, including annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation support, and special campaigns.

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual major donors, including new prospects and lapsed supporters.

  • Lead all aspects of a multi-year capital campaign, from planning and case development to prospect pipelines, campaign committees, and donor recognition.

  • Grow and manage a robust corporate partnership program, including sponsorships, cause-marketing, employee engagement, and event underwriting.

  • Oversee LiveGirl’s annual appeal, online giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising, ensuring strong, donor-centered messaging and execution.

  • Serve as the primary owner of LiveGirl’s donor database and development systems, ensuring accurate data, segmentation, and reporting.

  • Partner closely with the CEO and Board to align their fundraising efforts, including preparing briefings, materials, and donor meeting follow-up.

  • Collaborate with program and communications staff to develop compelling stories of impact, proposals, and stewardship materials that reflect LiveGirl’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven fundraiser who is excited to build and lead a development function, open new doors, and champion resources that advance girls’ and women’s leadership, mental wellness, and career readiness.

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following credentials, background, and personal skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

  • Ten or more years of development/fundraising experience, with a track record of securing individual, corporate, and/or foundation support.

  • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of major donors and leading successful campaigns or significant fundraising initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication principles and practices.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through with minimal direction.

  • Strong attention to detail, project management skills, and high level of organization.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build, deepen, and steward relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of and belief in the mission of LiveGirl, Inc.

Flexible Work Environment & Benefits: 

This is a hybrid position with approximately one in-office day per week in Westport, CT, with the remainder remote. Occasional travel may be required based on program, event, or organizational needs. This role reports to the COO. 

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $87,000 annually, plus benefits. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and organizational holidays. LiveGirl offers a supportive and flexible work environment that values learning, innovation, and employee wellness.

Confidence Coach Position

LiveGirl is looking for professionals to join our team as a Confidence Coach for our next program cycle dates (Feb - April)!

*Connecticut residents only.

Pay it forward and mentor the next generation of fierce, female leaders. We are looking for HIGH ENERGY leaders to facilitate an after-school mentoring group with middle school girls for eight weeks. As a LiveGirl mentor, you will be trained on our evidence-based curriculum. This is your opportunity to champion women and girls and help close the female leadership gap.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending a mandatory professional development training

  • Facilitating an 8-week Confidence Club with middle school girls, weekly 75 minute sessions

  • Providing weekly updates to Program Director and our Professional Leadership Network

What is Confidence Club?

Confidence Club is an 8-week curriculum-based mentoring program that creates a safe space for girls to develop self-esteem and social-emotional intelligence, the essential building blocks of a confident leader. The small group (8-15 girls) meets weekly with a trained facilitator to share concerns and interests, thus providing an opportunity to connect with other girls and talk in a safe environment without judgment.
