Every summer, girls arrive at Camp LiveGirl as strangers. By the end of the week, something has shifted. They know a few more people, have said something brave out loud, and tried something they were not sure they could do. This summer, 203 girls got three weeks of that across three sessions: Power Up!, Hero Training, and Save The World. The theme was Unique Is Chic, a reminder that every girl deserves a place where she can feel confident being fully herself. The address was St. Luke's School in New Canaan. The rest happened inside.
St. Luke's has been a true partner to this community. Their willingness to open their campus each summer makes it possible for girls from Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport to walk into a space that takes them seriously. We do not take that for granted. A parent put it simply in a note to camp director Maria Ogundolani during the final week: "Alexa comes home every day with a smile on her face and positivity. We are extremely happy with your program."
What camp looked like this summer
Every morning started with Brave Leaders Academy. Every day included SHE CARES, because confidence and emotional wellness are not two separate things here. Girls had designLab, field trips to places like the SHU Discovery Museum and CoCreate, talent showcases, podcasting, and an end-of-day circle where they named what they learned and what they felt.
Together, these experiences gave girls different ways to use their voices, build confidence, trust themselves, and show up for one another.
Guest presenters came from across Connecticut to spend time with the girls. Some came from companies. Some came from nonprofits. Two came from the 2026 Shine On Scholar cohort: Schebania Philemon and Lola Duhov both presented this summer, coming back to give something to the girls coming up behind them.

Stone Point Capital brought the carnival.
On the last day of the final session, the team from Stone Point Capital joined us for a full carnival. Campers spent the afternoon celebrating everything they had experienced over the three weeks alongside LiveGirl staff, interns, volunteers, and the Stone Point team. Thank you to Stone Point Capital for helping us close the summer with so much joy.

The best way to understand what camp actually is, not what it says it is but what it does, is to hear from someone who was inside it. One of our camp staff members shared the following with permission.
When I first started, I was excited to help run camp and create meaningful experiences for the girls. What I did not expect was how much of an impact they would have on me.
Every morning I looked forward to walking through those doors, not because it was work, but because I knew I would get to laugh, listen, encourage, and build genuine relationships with such incredible young girls.
This internship reminded me why I am pursuing a career working with children and families. It confirmed that creating safe, supportive spaces for young people is something I am deeply passionate about.
