We believe conversation is the catalyst for change.

FEATURING KRISTIN ST. THOMAS, CREATOR OF MIRROR ME DIVERSITY

Mirror Me’s Mission is to create a future where every teenager can see themselves, and the diverse world they live in, reflected in the characters they read about.

Mirror Me provides the link between diverse YA authors and books, and the teens wanting to read them.

On a grand scale, Mirror Me Diversity hopes to allow the youth of today, as well as those who care about youth (like parents and teachers), to expose themselves to diverse characters and storylines that will prepare them to be the inclusive leaders of tomorrow.

On a more personal scale, Mirror Me Diversity hopes to help youth maintain interest in reading throughout their adolescence and beyond. Diverse and interesting stories promise a more intrigued reader.

ABOUT KRISTIN

My name is Kristen St Louis and I am the CEO of Mirror Me Diversity, a platform designed to bridge the gap between diverse stories and the diverse readers eager to read them. I had always loved reading as a child, but as I eased into my teenage years, I found myself reading less and less as the books around me reflected me less. How hard is it to find a Latinx and Black character around here? Very. So, I took it into my own hands to fight for and promote stories that were both exciting and introduced characters that just happened to be diverse. It means everything to me to read plots where I see myself and ones where I don't, because it gives me the opportunity to read about an experience other than my own. I invite you to join me on my fight for diverse representation.

The "Listen, Learn, Act” conversation series has been thoughtfully designed to engage youth and their parents in racial justice advocacy. In order to achieve racial justice, we must learn, unlearn and listen to, then amplify, the voices of color and experience.
