How LiveGirl Helped Me Grow:

Confidence, career readiness, public speaking, testifying, building a network, and collaborating: I learned all these and more from my involvement with LiveGirl.

It is not easy to choose one moment; my entire LiveGirl experience has been transformative and life-changing. One-on-one mentorship has allowed me to build confidence, serving as the stepping stone for both personal and professional development. Working with the Connecticut State Legislature has given me incredible exposure to the legislative process. My SHE WORKS internship allowed me to leverage my skills at the local, state, and national levels, expanding a network with peer leaders and women who will change our future.

LiveGirl has equipped me with the skills AND the opportunities I needed. Meeting with female leaders across various sectors boosted my confidence and gave me the self-knowledge that I could step up and lead real change.

My internships with LiveGirl and SHE WORKS have taught me much about the workforce and life after college. The SHE WORKS training taught me both technical and soft skills for a professional setting that I applied during my internship to network and build strong connections. It also allowed me to familiarize myself with professional life, like working in an office, collaborating with employees, and meeting with my managers.

My Message of Gratitude:

First, I want to say that the entire LiveGirl team is so passionate and amazing. Each of them has impacted my life in some way, and more importantly, they are changing the lives of so many girls. On the other hand, I want my mentor to know that she has not only taught me SO much about so many things but that she is the most inspiring woman I have ever met. I would not be the woman I am today without her. Sheri, I think you deserve SO much recognition and I hope that you are on the Time 100 Magazine soon. 😉
