OUR Leadership Curriculum
We have collaborated with some of the finest professors and leadership experts in the area to develop our curriculum and leadership model: from Yale University, The Brave Institute from the University of Connecticut, the CT Collective for Women and Girls, and the Connecticut Governor’s Prevention Partnership. Our mission is to equip girls with the necessary leadership skills to thrive and have a positive impact on the world. We prepare girls to LIVE our leadership values:
• LIVE brave: Embody resilience and perseverance to overcome obstacles; stand up and speak out for what you believe in.
• LIVE kind: Connect positively with yourself and others and have a positive impact on the world around you.
• LIVE your true self: Love yourself, believe in yourself, and embrace your original, unique self.
• LIVE your power: Identify and leverage your inner powers; activate and self-empower to change the world.

Our programs and curriculum are based upon these four components and include facilitated discussion groups, project-based skill learning, and service learning.
Role models: We expose our girls to trailblazing, diverse female role models (keynote speakers, Women Who Inspire blog, etc.) so they know what’s possible.
Mentors: We teach middle school girls “how to” lead and then provide high school girls with opportunities to lead others. This includes our high school mentors program where high school girls provide “just been there” mentoring to middle school girls.
Diversity: We foster a diverse community where we help all girls reach their potential, and provide acquired diversity (traits you gain from experience) to girls from homogenous zip codes. Research from the Center for Talent Innovation shows that individuals with acquired diversity are more inclusive leaders.
