Jessica Long, 2nd Most Decorated U.S. Paralympic Athlete of All Time & Author "Unsinkable"
Jessica Long exploded on to the sports scene in 2004 when, at the age of 12, she won three gold medals at the Athens Paralympics. She continued to win awards, including the2006 U.S Olympic Committee’s Paralympian of the Year, and, at the age of 15, the 2007 AAU Sullivan Award, given to the nation’s top amateur athlete. She was the first Paralympian to receive this honor, beating out such high-profile athletes as speed skater Apolo Ohno and fellow swimmer Michael Phelps, and is still the only athlete with a disability to win the award in its 82-year history.

Born in Siberia with fibular hemimelia, Jessica Long was adopted from a Russian orphanage at thirteen months old and has since become the second most decorated U.S. Paralympic athlete of all time. Pilin Anice, Performing Artist & Athleta Ambassador
Pilin Anice is a dance and yoga instructor, performing artist, and model. Pilin is passionate about helping others tune into their highest self by improving their health and wellbeing. From universities to community organizations, she has guided students of all ages in the sacred movements of yoga and dance through a range of workshops and classes. She has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, BET/CentricTV, and YogaXpress. Pilin earned her 200 Hour RYT at Reflections Yoga in Guatemala and is certified in holistic nutrition as well as Thai Massage Therapy. For over 14 years, she has studied with masters of West African dance, Duhnam Technique, and African Diasporic dances of Haiti, Cuba, and Brazil. Her passion for yoga and dance lead her to become a certified Afro Flow Yoga instructor, which she has taught in the US and abroad.
A proud member of Actor Equity Association, Pilin has performed Off-Broadway, on National Tours and in regional productions. She has modeled in commercials, print ads, and industrials for many Fortune 500 companies including Disney, Visa, Google, Chase, and Canon. She has also worked extensively as a vocalist performing in concerts and cabarets throughout New York City.
Pilin is an alumna of Howard University, where she was awarded the Debbie & Phylicia Ayers-Allen Performing Arts Scholarship. She also studied at the Ailey School and is a certified nutrition coach from Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Sarah Edwards, Queen of Diamonds, Race Car Driver
Sarah is a 23-year-old drag racer from Stamford, CT. After her Dad heard a radio ad, her parents took Sarah to Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ, her first time to any motorsports event, for what they saw as a chance for a little 'family fun'. The sensation that filled Sarah’s twelve-year-old body watching the 'Queen of Diamonds' Jet Dragster exceed the speeds of 300 MPH in a ¼ mile filled her head with a dream.
In addition to earning her upgraded NHRA License, Sarah went on to earn her Associates Degree in Interior Design from Norwalk Community College. During the weekdays, Sarah works with an Interior Designer in her hometown of Stamford, CT as well as for a construction company, doing administrative work. When Friday rolls around she now turns the fabrics and paint swatches in for a helmet and jet engine. "I'm ecstatic about joining the race team I once only dreamed of being a part of, Hanna Motorsports Jets", stated Sarah. "Rich, Al, and Ellen have welcomed me, and this definitely is an opportunity I plan to make a reality".
Lena Pacheco, CT Women's Hall of Fame
Lena Harwood Pacheco has dedicated her academic and professional work to the causes of women’s rights and educational equity. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, and received the Helen Warren Smith Award for outstanding leadership and service. Immediately following graduation, she joined Teach For America, launching her 8 years as an elementary school teacher in the greater Hartford area. During her tenure as teacher, Lena took on many instructional leadership roles, facilitating professional development for new educators and writing curriculum materials – experience she gladly combines with her passion for women’s rights as Education Manager at the Hall.
Outside of the field of education, Lena keeps herself busy through her training in the martial arts. She currently holds the rank of 2nd degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate, Level 1 Jeet Kune Do Instructor Certification, blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and rank in Modern Arnis. She also enjoys the arts, particularly drawing, painting, and Latin and Ballroom dancing. She currently resides in Cromwell, Connecticut with her husband and her daughter.
Lauren Oliver, NY Times Bestselling Author
NY Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver will join us at Camp LiveGirl this summer! Lauren Oliver has published numerous young adult novels including Panic, the Delirium trilogy, and Before I Fall (which was made into a major motion picture in 2017).
Her next book, Broken Things, will be released on October 2nd and we can’t wait to read it!!

Most of you probably know Sabrina as the runner-up from Survivor (Season 24: One World). In addition, she is the owner of KUU Productions (www.kuuproductions.com), which has produced features for NBC, CBS, Entertainment Tonight, The New York Times, People Magazine, ESSENCE, Ebony and also the Hillary Clinton 2016 Presidential campaign. She is also the founder of WEEN (Women in Entertainment Network), a NYC based women’s non-profit which currently has over 80,000 members.

Vincencia Adusei is the Founder and President of VASE Management, A Construction Management/General Contracting Company
She has a unique blend of leadership, vision and knowledge. Vincencia attended the University of Bridgeport where she earned her Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree and her Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Vincencia is a self-motivated, Ghanaian-American Entrepreneur and a transformative leader who spearheads a highly successful enterprise. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Fairfield County Community Foundation, Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises/ The Green Team, and Connecticut Against Violence.

Kate Vanek is Senior Vice President, Finance and serves as the operating CFO of the $2B US Media business within Nielsen, a $6B global information and measurement company with leading market positions in marketing and consumer information, television and other media measurement. Prior to Nielsen where Kate has been since 2013, she served as Vice President of Investor & Government Relations for Stanley Black & Decker, a global diversified industrial company best known for DeWalt, Stanley and Black & Decker branded products.
Previously, Kate was a Vice President at Bear Stearns in the credit products sales team where she worked on the CDS and corporate bond sales and trading floor. Kate has her MBA from Columbia Business School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with majors in Spanish and International Studies with a concentration in Latin America. Passionate about empowering young women to succeed, Kate has been an active mentor and participant in the iMentor program since 2010 where she works closely with young women throughout their entire high school progression and into their first years of college. Kate is happily married with two children and lives in NYC.

Anne is currently the Vice President of Communications at Oscar Health. In this role, Anne is responsible for strengthening Oscar's brand in the media and clarifying the company's narrative and its value proposition.
Previously, she was the Vice President of Global Communications and Public Relations at Yahoo Inc. In this role, she helped lead the company through the most storied period in its history under Yahoo's current CEO and President, Marissa Mayer. Previously, she spent nearly seven years at Google overseeing communications for key consumer products such as Google search, geo-products, and Google+, just to name a few.
Before joining the world of technology, she spent more than two years living abroad, where she worked on socio-economic development projects funded by the International Finance Group (private sector of the World Bank Group). Anne graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Fun fact! Anne was a competitive, amateur thai kick boxer during her early years and it was then where she learned the importance of courage, discipline and hard work -- all skills that have helped her progress in her career.

7/26 - LAUREN OLIVER
Lauren Oliver is a New York Times bestselling author. She has published the bestselling novels Before I Fall; Panic; and the Delirium trilogy: Delirium, Pandemonium and Requiem, which have been translated into more than thirty languages. She is a Nutmeg Award nominee for her middle-grade novel Liesl & Po, as well as author of the fantasy middle-grade novels The Spindlers and Curiosity House: Case of the Shrunken Head. Before I Fall and Panic have been made into movies. Academically, Lauren graduated from the University of Chicago, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also has a degree from New York University’s MFA program. She is also co-founder of Paper Lantern Lit, the boutique literary development company.
7/27 - HEIDI SANDREUTER
Heidi Sandreuter is a consultant in the global Consumer Practice at Spencer Stuart. Based in the New York office, Heidi focuses on the consumer packaged goods & durables and sports business sectors as well as on digital leadership. Heidi is also a member of the firm’s Marketing Officer Practice, drawing on her extensive experience in global brand management, consumer engagement, product innovation, large-scale promotions and joint ventures. Heidi most recently served as vice president in the marketing division for sports apparel company Under Armour, where she and her team earned 2014 Marketer of the Year honors from Advertising Age for developing the “I WILL WHAT I WANT” campaign. Heidi served in a number of leadership roles over the course of more than 14 years with PepsiCo, including senior director roles for sports marketing and media strategy and investment. She led major initiatives for brand management, product innovation and improving collaboration within the company and with outside partners. Prior to earning an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and working in account management at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, Heidi graduated from Williams College where she played field hockey, lacrosse and one season of club hockey where she earned the nickname, “Tripod.”

Lori Tauber Marcus is a C-suite and board leader for private equity and venture capital backed businesses, currently serving as the Chief Marketing Officer of Peloton Cycle, a home fitness innovator. Lori drives business growth with strategy, brand marketing, communications, PR, social/digital media, consumer insights, data analytics, creative services, and community engagement. Previously, Lori was a global leader at Keurig Green Mountain Inc., where she led an approximate $1B P&L while establishing a global footprint for multiple business lines and leading the launch and commercialization of new multi-billion dollar products. Earlier, Lori served as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for The Children’s Place Retail Stores where she created the company’s first brand strategy and delivered its first integrated marketing system and new e-Commerce, digital, and mobile marketing tools. Prior to that, Lori built a successful 24-year career with PepsiCo, holding national and global Senior Vice President and general management roles, and earlier Vice President, marketing and brand management roles. Lori started her career with a division of A.C. Nielsen.
Separately, Lori serves in multiple board and advisory roles. As Board Chair for DNA Diagnostics Center, a growing leader in private DNA testing services, Lori guides overall strategy and governance for corporate growth. As a Board Member for the past decade, and now the Vice Chair, of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Lori has helped double corporate giving and triple overall revenue, introducing a new corporate development model and leading strategic re-branding and customer/patient-centric digital marketing efforts. Lori also serves on the CMO Advisory Board for VentureBeat, and as an Advisor to the CEO and CMO of Carrington Farms.
Lori holds a business from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She is committed to leadership, lifelong learning, personal and professional development, and as such, inspires others as an active presenter on leadership, management and marketing topics. Lori has been inducted into the YWCA’s Academy of Women Leaders, and resides in New Canaan, CT, with her family.

Wendy Lowy Sloane is a nationally syndicated Radio Show host. She started her career warming up audiences for Phil Donahue and was quickly hired as a producer for the Geraldo Rivera Show. Moving on with her career, Wendy landed a key job in radio in New York City and was hired to be the Executive/On-Air Producer for BIG 105 with Danny Bonaduce. The Miami native and Florida State University graduate now serves as the executive producer and host of her show What's Up with Wendy, which is nationally syndicated on the Business TalkRadio Network.
