CAMP LIVEGIRL 2018 OVERVIEW

“A week-long camp, a life-long perspective”

WHO: Rising 5th-9th grade girls (teams formed by grade)

WHAT:  Camp LiveGirl brings together middle school girls from across CT & NY for a week of leadership development and girl empowerment in a fun, diverse, team-based environment. In the mornings, girls complete “BRAVE Leaders" and hear from inspiring keynote speakers, including second most decorated U.S. Paralympic athlete of all time, author "Unsinkable", Queen of Diamonds race car driver, nationally renowned dance instructor, and CT Women's Hall of Fame. In the afternoons, girls select either multi-sports 🏀 or musical theatre 🎤  and explore new interests, including coding, poetry, self-defense and more!

Camp LiveGirl is dedicated to giving your girl time and space to reflect on who she wants to be & how to be true to herself!  Girls come away with improved self-confidence, communication skills, and relationship skills. Personalized afternoon schedule includes multi-sports or musical theatre. A camp like no other!!

NEW THIS SUMMER:  We are thrilled to welcome Meaghan Davis, Founder/CEO of UConn's BRAVE Institute -who will teach our "BRAVE Leaders" course.

WHY:  Now more than ever, the need for girl empowerment and preparing the next generation of female leaders is clear and urgent. Research shows that 7 in 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way. Research has shown that girls-only settings promote a greater “can do” attitude, a greater impact on young women’s social self-confidence, a more effective environment for personal development, and a more supportive environment to pursue STEM and leadership opportunities.

HOW: Our high school mentor:camper ratio is 8:1. By using a small team model, all girls immediately feel a positive sense of belonging at camp and form close bonds with their teammates.

CAMP FEE: $350 includes transportation, t-shirt, journal, lunch & snacks. (Scholarships & payment plans available.) $50 nonrefundable deposit due upon registration. $25 EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT THROUGH 3/15.

livegirl 'BRAVE LEADERS' CURRICULUM

The overall goal is to build social emotional intelligence and self-esteem. In other words, the goal is to help girls truly love and believe in themselves and equip them with the leadership skills necessary to have a positive impact on the world.  Girls will discover  their inner LiveGirl, so that upon completion of the program they are prepared to LIVE our leadership values.

• LIVE your true self: Love yourself, believe in yourself, and embrace your original, unique self.

• LIVE brave: Embody resilience and perseverance to overcome obstacles; stand up and speak out for what you believe in.

• LIVE kind: Connect positively with yourself and others and have a positive impact on the world around you.

• LIVE your power: Identify and leverage your inner powers; activate and self-empower to change the world.
